Celebrate National Ice Cream Day! [VIDEO]
For as long as there has been cream, sugar, salt & ice there has been ice cream. Of course not many of like to make our own ice cream as you have to crank on an ice cream maker for sometimes ours to get that sweet delicious summer treat that we all love.
As a kid my mom and dad would plop us down in front of the Magnavox console TV on a Sunday night and we would watch Mutual Of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom with Marlin Perkins and then in living color the Wonderful World Of Disney. What would be eating? Ice cream sundae’s! Vanilla ice cream with Hershey’s Chocolate sauce. I would let mine melt a little and then stir it up to make chocolate ice cream! YUMMY!
If it was a Saturday night dad would load us all up and we would head out to the Dairy Queen for a chocolate or Strawberry dipped cone. Of course we would watch dad devour a banana split! Never did like those. Banana splits always had too much going on plus they had coconut on them.
So every 3rd Sunday in July since July of 1984 when President Ronald Reagan proclaim this day National Ice Cream Day.
So go enjoy some ice cream today!
