RIP Neil Armstrong — Fellow Astronauts Mourn His Death

Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, passed away this weekend from complications caused by recent heart surgery. He was 82 years old.
Armstrong was a quiet, modest man, whose accomplishments he always regarded as simply doing his job. Regardless, most view him as one of the greatest heroes in history.
Many astronauts have credited Armstrong with being their inspiration, and have taken to Twitter to express how much his contributions to history have affected them.
I know I am joined by millions of others in mourning Neil’s passing – a true American hero and the best pilot I ever knew.

As young girl watching #NeilArmstrong step on on the moon, the stars came a little bit closer & my world & expectations quite a bit larger — Dr. Mae Jemison (@maejemison) August 26, 2012
The astronaut family lost many this year, but each member contributed and lived so fully that ALL of the world has gained.
