Two Great Weekends at Two Great Blues Festivals With Great Weather
If you relax properly on your weekends and vacations you return to work rejuvenated, refreshed and exhausted… MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
A look over my shoulder at FUN-nominal weather during the last two weekends is even more important in light of today’s (Tuesday, May 21, 2013) at times, torrential down pour. This past weekend, Thursday night thru Sunday, was the Washington Blues Society “Best Blues Festival” award winner five of the last six years, or some such impressive number, the “Sunbanks Blues Festival“, May edition. That’s right readers, you may be thinking, “Lon. what good does it do us to hear about a great event AFTER the event?” Valid question with my answer being, “Sunbanks Blues Festival” happens again with the September edition, the Fifth thru Eighth, 2013. There was a familiar sound to this years “Sunbanks” as the “Love Dogs” from Boston and “24th Street Wailers” also performed the previous weekend at “Untapped” in the Tri-Cities. That fact just enhanced the experience as both bands knocked it out-of-the-(RV)park thrilling the audience at BOTH venues! This photo from Friday night at “Sunbanks“, the “24th Street Wailers” from the Toronto, Canada area. I will be posting some of my experiences over these past two weekends as this week progresses.
